MPAs and marine management zones (within national parks) that will benefit from your contributions are located throughout Batangas, Oriental Mindoro and north Palawan in the Philippines, totaling some 30,075 hectares. The MPAs are primarily community-managed, supported by local government, agencies and non-government organizations.
Some MPAs were formed as far back as 2002, while some are recently-established and/or expanded through the partnerships. Management of the MPAs are enhanced/upgraded through continuing capacity-building and counter-parting support by the partners.
